It can live on your hard drive, palm top, lap top and takes up virtually no space at all. You can search it instantly and choose to print out relevant sections for reference. E-books have many advantages over hard books besides being post free, instantly available anywhere in the world- see upgrades below.  [ top ] 2.  Can you explain about the free upgrades?   Should you lose your file, or should it become corrupted, we will send you a replacement free of charge at any time (make a note of your customer number or order number to help us verify your original purchase). Also, when a newer version of the same title is released, you can request the new version free of charge and therefore always keep your e-books up to date.  [ top ] 3.  Is it safe to use my credit card?   We utilise the most modern, secure server connections to process your payments. We have been advised that you should use a credit card in preference to a debit card in general internet transactions, as any loss or mistake will be refunded by credit card companies, who have resources and safeguards for this, but many banks who issue debit cards do not. So, credit cards are good and safe to use on the internet. Even if money is lost, it won't be yours!  [ top ] 4.  What happens if I can't open the file?   Our support staff will find out just why that is (zip problems, software problems) and will do their best to find a format that you can use. For 98% of our customers, we find a solution quickly. For the 2% for whom we cannot find a compatible solution, we refund the purchase price immediately.  [ top ] 5.  I only have Web TV. Can I still buy the files?   We are sorry to say that at this time, you have to have a working computer with storage to be able to process the files.  [ top ] 6.  I have never bought a file before. Is it difficult?   No, it is really easy. Every day, millions of computer programmes and e-books are sold that way because it is so convenient for everyone. Pick your file, pay for it and click a button to start transferring the information to your computer.  All you need to do is save it and read it!  [ top ] 7.  How does the process work?  Try downloading a free pdf document from the downloads section at http://www.theamt.com  When you click a link, a new window appears and the content of the book is downloaded to your computer. You must *save your ebook immediately* after the download has finished to your hard drive in a place where you will find it again.  [ top ] 8.  What happens if the download doesn't work?  Simply mail services@theamt.com and we will either send you another download link, or the entire e-book attached to an email right away. If you have trouble with any part of the process, just mail services@theamt.com and we will put it in order for you.  [ top ] 9.  What is Adobe PDF? The e-books are in pdf format which stands for portable document format. In order to read them, you need the Adobe Acrobat Reader programme Version 4.0 or better which is available free of charge for both MAC and PC from http://www.adobe.com  We can supply some of the documents in MicroSoft Word format. If you require this, please ask services@theamt.com for assistance in the matter.  [ top ] 10.  What is the refund policy?   Please be sure that you really want to read the title you are ordering and please, be reminded that these are E-BOOKS not hard books (if the book is available as a hard copy, there will be a link to a publisher's site on the ordering page). We refund purchases for software incompatibility reasons only and please be aware that on both sides, finance charges are leveraged when a refund takes place. Therefore, be sure to read available reviews or seek further information from the publishers before making a purchase to avoid unneccessary charges and charge-backs for everyone concerned.  [ top ]
